The Oxygen XML editor is optimised for text encoding, and comes with several TEI-based tools and schemas (although not the EpiDoc DTD). It also comes with multiple XSL engines. As a result it is more or less ready to run out of the box. (Although bear in mind that if you have the demo license your installation will only run for 30 days unless you upgrade in that time.)
